Network Providers Receive Incentive Payments from HQEP

Augusta Care Partners performed well against our goals in the 2017 Hospital Quality & Efficiency Program (HQEP), resulting in roughly $300k being distributed to 111 network providers via earned incentive payments. This was an amazing first year for the program!

What is HQEP?

HQEP is an agreement between Augusta Care Partners and Augusta Health designed to manage costs and improve quality for the health system. Augusta Care Partners receives pre-defined payouts (“shared savings”) based on metric performance against targets & then distributes incentives to qualifying providers.

In addition to meeting cost and quality targets for Augusta Health, HQEP also provides a means for ACP to achieve several other critical goals directly related to our network’s future viability:

  • Physician Engagement
  • Develop Cost & Quality Reporting Infrastructure
  • Establish a Track Record of Quality Improvement & Cost Reduction

These core competencies were built in 2017 and we continue to focus on their development in 2018 via HQEP Year 2.

Incentive Payments Earned!

Of the 158 providers who could have earned incentives in 2017, 111 providers received a check from Augusta Care Partners. Incentive payments ranged from $415 to $11,400, depending on the level of the provider’s engagement. Here a quick breakdown of the 2017 distribution & how providers earned their incentives:
