Outpatient Assessments via Open Access
Valley CSB provides ‘walk-in’ assessments for adults on a first come, first serve basis without appointment. Those seeking services should walk in to our main office at 85 Sangers Lane in Staunton on Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 am and Thursday at 9:00 am and request to be assessed for services. It is our goal to assess as many individuals as possible each day, however we cannot guarantee that an assessment will be provided when someone presents for services. Valley provides scheduled assessments for children and adolescents. Individuals under age 18 or their guardian should call the intake line at (540) 213-2102 for an appointment. Valley CSB also provides scheduled assessments for individuals being discharged from a hospital on Temporary Detention Order or from Middle River Regional Jail. Those assessments are scheduled by the referring agency. General questions regarding services at Valley CSB should directed to (540) 887-3200. We accept many forms of insurance, private pay as well as sliding scale fees.
Substance Use Services
Valley CSB provides a range of outpatient substance use services utilizing the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s Patient Placement Criteria (ASAM PPC-2R) to determine the most appropriate level of care. An individual seeking substance use services should complete an assessment through our open access process and will be assessed for substance use needs at that time. Should detoxification or residential treatment be recommended, Valley CSB clinicians will work with the individual and external treatment facilities to establish that treatment. If a qualified individual presents for detoxification and/or residential treatment, Valley CSB may be able to provide financial assistance. We offer on-site Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient group therapy at varying times with several group focus topics.
